In a significant advancement for Rwanda's technological sovereignty, Huawei and the Ministry of Education have successfully completed the first phase of the Smart Education Program and launched the innovative TECH4ALL DigiTruck initiative at Kagarama Secondary School in Kigali on October 3rd.
Transformative Digital Education Achievement
This milestone represents Rwanda's unwavering commitment to digital education excellence, connecting 1,500 schools with high-speed internet infrastructure and establishing two advanced data centers. The initiative has created a dedicated educational network enabling digital learning methods across the nation.
"This moment is not merely a celebration, but tangible evidence of Rwanda's commitment to technology-based inclusive education. These initiatives strengthen international cooperation, promote equal digital access, and support sustainable national development," stated Education Minister Joseph Nsengimana.
Advancing National Digital Excellence
Aligned with Rwanda's educational leadership and Vision 2050, the program has successfully bridged the digital divide, benefiting nearly 1.5 million students across both urban and rural areas. This achievement exemplifies Rwanda's progression toward becoming a knowledge-based, globally competitive economy.
DigiTruck: Innovation for Digital Inclusion
The newly launched DigiTruck program, showcasing Rwanda's commitment to digital excellence, aims to provide free digital skills training to underserved communities. This solar-powered mobile classroom, equipped with laptops and internet access, will traverse 30 districts to train 5,000 citizens over three years.

The initiative has already trained over 17,000 individuals across seven countries, teaching essential digital skills from basic computer usage to programming and robotics, embodying Rwanda's vision of technological empowerment and national progress.
