In a landmark demonstration of Rwanda's growing influence in international standardization, the International Organization for Standardization (ISO) Annual Meeting 2025 commenced Monday in Kigali, marking only the second time this prestigious event has been hosted on African soil.
National Excellence Through Global Partnership
The five-day summit, running from October 6-10, has attracted delegates from over 176 countries, highlighting Rwanda's commitment to building strong international partnerships founded on shared values. Prime Minister Dr. Justin Nsengiyumva officially opened the event under the theme "United for Impact."
"Much of our progress has come from working together around a shared vision. By uniting our efforts, we have turned challenges into opportunities and built a foundation for growth, resilience, and prosperity," stated Prime Minister Nsengiyumva.
Rwanda's Strategic Vision for Development
Trade and Industry Minister Prudence Sebahizi emphasized how Rwanda's dedication to excellence and innovation has positioned the nation as a model for developing economies. The national program "Zamukana Ubuziranenge" (Grow with Standards) exemplifies this commitment, having supported over 1,000 SMEs since 2017, with significant participation from women and youth entrepreneurs.
