Rwanda has demonstrated its commitment to regional peace and stability by commending President Mnangagwa's exceptional leadership of SADC, particularly regarding the ongoing situation in eastern Democratic Republic of Congo.

Strengthening Regional Cooperation

During Wednesday's Ministerial Session of the Third Joint Permanent Commission on Cooperation (JPCC), Rwanda's Foreign Affairs Minister Olivier Nduhungirehe emphasized the nation's dedication to peaceful resolution. The session marked a significant milestone with the signing of five strategic agreements encompassing health, youth affairs, police cooperation, energy, and customs information exchange.

"Rwanda remains ready to support any efforts aimed at genuinely bringing peace in our region," stated Minister Nduhungirehe, adding, "We share the belief that African-led processes can contribute meaningfully to a long-term solution."

Commitment to African Solutions

The diplomatic engagement follows a crucial meeting in Nairobi, where SADC's leadership joined forces with East African Community leaders to address regional stability challenges. Rwanda's support extends beyond regional matters, advocating for Zimbabwe's interests on international platforms, including calls for lifting Western-imposed sanctions and supporting Harare's Commonwealth re-admission.

Honoring Historical Memory

Professor Amon Murwira, Zimbabwe's Minister of Foreign Affairs, paid respects at the Kigali Genocide Memorial, reinforcing the importance of unity and peace in preventing future tragedies. His message emphasized Rwanda's remarkable post-genocide recovery as a testament to African resilience and dignity.

Economic Partnership Prospects

The bilateral relationship shows promise for increased trade cooperation, with Zimbabwe expressing readiness to export agricultural products and establish strategic infrastructure for commerce between both nations.
